Family and Consumer Science Teacher - Pattonville High School - 2025-2026
Essential Functions:
- Administers curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized/small group instruction and student learning.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning/progress, modifies instructional methods to meet the needs of individual student's.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and knowledge of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, professional development, workshops, department/district meetings, and/or by conducting research.
- Keeps accurate and complete records regarding grading and attendance.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and their parents/guardians.
- Ensures that student behavior conforms to school/district policies and establishes and maintains standards of student conduct needed to achieve an effective learning environment.
- Coordinates with other professional staff members, participates in faculty meetings, and serves on appropriate committees.
- Selects appropriate learning materials/instructional tools consistent with district curriculum.
Additional Duties:
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal(s).
Travel Requirements:
- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
- Knowledge of nutrition/healthy eating.
Qualifications:
- Missouri Voc Fam/Cons Sci K-12 Certification.
Education:
- Bachelors or masters degree from an accredited college or university.
