Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Special Education Certification in Mild/Moderate K-12
Ability to work collaboratively with parents, students, and other professionals.
Crystal City has a 4-day school week.

Special Education Teacher
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Special Education Teaching Certification required for this position.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply principles and methods of developing an instructional and behavioral management system.
- Experience and expertise in student behavior management and collaborative problem solving.
- Participates in the IEP process by attending IEP meetings, collaborating with IEP team members, preparing IEP paperwork, and delivering instruction to enable students to make IEP goal progress
- Maintains accurate, complete and correct paperwork as required by law, district policy, and administrative procedures
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students in all areas of instruction
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Prepares for students assigned and demonstrates written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques, technology, and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved
- Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required
- Takes all necessary and responsible precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Assists in the administration and implementation of all policies and rules governing student conduct. Develops reasonable rules addressing classroom behavior and procedures in the classroom that maintains fair and just order in the classroom
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals
Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Special Education Certification in Mild/Moderate K-12
Ability to work collaboratively with parents, students, and other professionals.
