The Classroom Teacher provides an engaging educational program for students and participates in other school-related activities. This role focuses on delivering a high-quality, bilingual educational experience in English and Spanish.

The Classroom Teacher provides an engaging educational program for students and participates in other school-related activities. This role focuses on delivering a high-quality, bilingual educational experience in English and Spanish.

Representative Duties:
- Dual Immersion Program: Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools offers a special and recognized Dual Immersion Program, which allows both English and Spanish-speaking students to receive instruction in both languages. The goal is to develop bilingualism, biliteracy, and multicultural understanding among elementary students.
- Instruction:
- Teach core subjects such as Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, Health, Physical Education, Music, and Art, as aligned with the District’s language allocation model.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials based on Missouri Learning Standards and Dual Immersion curriculum guidelines.
- Implement research-based strategies to facilitate second language learning, including cooperative learning, visuals, manipulatives, and student-centered approaches.
- Bilingual and Multicultural Focus:
- Create and implement a rigorous program that builds bilingualism, biliteracy, and an appreciation for diverse cultures.
- Incorporate instructional techniques that support language acquisition and cultural competency.
- Assessment and Reporting:
- Regularly assess student progress through a variety of formal and informal assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of academic and social growth, prepare progress reports, and communicate with parents/guardians.
- Classroom Environment:
- Establish and maintain an attractive, functional classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Promote positive student behavior and citizenship.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in district training, staff meetings, and Dual Language Immersion professional development activities.
- Advocate for the Dual Language Immersion program and contribute to its ongoing development, including curriculum design and community outreach.
