Director of Safety and Security
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
Director of Safety and Security
- Schedule: 12 months, Monday-Friday to begin 7/1/2025
- Salary to be determined, commensurate with experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
- Monitor and visit district buildings on a consistent basis to perform safety and security audits and recommend ways to improve security and safety.
- Develop and maintain district emergency plans and preparations as well as crisis response and recovery plans.
- Create and implement safety and security training for staff.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend technology and processes for building safety and security, including visitor management systems, security camera systems, and employee card-readers for facilities access.
- Monitor daily activities of all district transportation systems, including eligibility, safety, bus stops and routes.
- Actively participate in building safety committees as needed, and monitor and support building safety drills.
- Coordinate district safety committee and create regular opportunities for community and employee feedback.
- Establish relationships with law enforcement, fire protection, and other community agencies to improve safety and security.
- Establish relationships with staff, students, parents, and community members to enhance school safety and security.
- Research grant opportunities for school safety and remain up to date on state and federal school safety regulations.

- School Resource Officers
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Educational Leadership, or a related field
- 10 or more years of experience preferred in a related field, such as emergency operations, law enforcement, or educational leadership (e.g., school principal)
- Previous experience training adults
