District Technology Specialist - Pattonville High School - 2025-26 School Year
Summary of position:
The primary responsibility of the District Technology Specialist (DTS) is to work directly with teachers. The DTS is a specialized position that requires knowledge of instructional processes, technology applications, and professional development techniques. The DTS primarily serves the high school but may perform district-wide tasks as necessary. It is anticipated that the DTS will spend the majority of their time at the high school. As a certified staff member, the DTS will be supervised by the building principal or designee.
Desired Qualification:
Master's Degree or higher in Instructional Technology or other relevant field
Required Qualification:
Appropriate Missouri Teacher Certificate
Salary range:
Certified teacher salary schedule

Occasional travel between district school buildings

Essential Functions:
- Works in collaboration with building administration to plan, facilitate, and evaluate the impact of professional learning experiences for teachers and staff on the use of technology to advance teaching and learning and to support district goals and initiatives
- Researches, models, and implements technology integration to promote student achievement
- Works with teachers to develop technology-supported lessons and digital citizenship curriculum
- Engages in reflective dialogue with teachers to help make connections to research-based effective instructional practices that harness the power of existing and emerging technologies
- Serves as a model teacher by pairing technology with sound pedagogy and implementing personalized learning teaching practices and strategies
- Assists instructional staff with planning and problem solving as it relates to technology
- Assist with managing and publishing content on school websites and social media pages or training new website authors
- Assists teachers in selecting, implementing, and integrating technology tools and resources that support the board-approved curriculum and adhere to district policies regarding student data privacy
- Serve as a representative for teachers at monthly DTS meetings
- Other duties as assigned

- Knowledge of instructional processes, instructional coaching techniques, and adult learning theory
- Demonstrate the ability to implement personalized learning techniques effectively in the classroom
- Strong understanding of content curriculum standards and frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Experience planning and delivering professional development to adult learners
- Ability to create clear documentation, reference materials, and instructions for new technologies and technological processes for students, parents, and educators with varying levels of technical experience
- Knowledge of effective technology integration models
- Experience using and demonstrating the use of Canvas LMS
- Experience using and demonstrating a wide variety of educational technology tools including but not limited to:
- Apple macOS and iOS
- iLife - iMovie, GarageBand, iTunes
- iWork - Pages, Keynote, Numbers
- Google Workspace Apps and Tools
- Artificial Intelligence tools
- Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Apple Teacher recognition or Apple Learning Coach certification
